Multidomain proxy plugin

Updated 2 weeks ago by Stan

The multidomain proxy plugin is a module that enables you to have different proxy connections per domain within the same browser profile.

This plugin works on the basis of rules, which you define per line. The rules can be defined in the following formats depending on your proxy type:

  • For IP authenticated proxies: Domain_pattern;proxy_type;host;port
  • For Username & Password authenticated proxies: Domain_pattern;proxy_type;host;port;username;password

Practical example:

*. google.com;SOCKS5;151.23.612.21;8080
          *.facebook.com;HTTP;178.98.23.124;8080;user;password
          *;HTTP; 63.91.93.224;8080

If you used such rules in the Multidomain plugin settings and launched the browser profile, the following will occur:

  • All connections to google.com will be processed via the 151.23.612.21 proxy
  • All connections to facebook.com will be processed via the 178.98.23.124 proxy
  • Connections to all other websites will be processed via the 63.91.93.224 proxy
Important! If you wish to define a wildcard proxy (the one which will be connected to all other websites), it must be placed as the latest entry, as specified in the above example.

Since domains pattern follows a  'shell expression pattern', 'url::' prefix and regex can be used, as it's shown in the following example:

url::*/billing-manager/*;SOCKS5;151.23.612.21;8080
          [A-Za-z0-9](?:[A-Za-z0-9\-]{0,61}[A-Za-z0-9])?;HTTP;178.98.23.124;8080;user;password
          *;HTTP; 63.91.93.224;8080

If such proxy rules are used, the browser profile proxy connections will behave in the following way:

  • All websites that have the '/billing-manager/' string in the URL will be connected to 151.23.612.21 proxy
  • All websites that have subdomains (regex) will be processed through 178.98.23.124 proxy
  • Connections to all other websites will be processed via the 63.91.93.224 proxy
